Professor Andros Gregoriou

Professor Andros Gregoriou joined 91¶¶Òõ Business School in April 2014, as the Head of the Economics and Finance Division of the Business School. Professor Gregoriou has held senior academic positions in various academic institutions throughout his career including the University of Hull, Brunel University and the University of East Anglia.

A leading authority in finance, he has published a significant number of research papers in internationally recognised journals and generated over £5 million in research funding. He is a regular consultant for the CFA and the London Stock Exchange.

How I like to teach

I am a leading authority in finance with a wealth of knowledge in research and professional practice. I teach International Finance, Research Methods and Financial Risk Management to the postgraduate students. I engage the students through a combination of real life examples and cutting-edge academic research.

My research interests

I have obtained over £5 million in research funding throughout my academic career from the ESRC, Leverhulme, British Academy and Nuffield. I have also received funding for consultancy from the Bank of England, the London Stock Exchange, the CFA and Low Carbon Futures.

My research interests focus on stock market liquidity and financial econometrics.

Biography

I obtained a BSc, MSc, PhD and PGCERT qualifications from Brunel University, London where I became a lecturer in finance from 2003 to 2006. Following my promotion to Senior Lecturer of Finance between 2006 and 2008, I became Professor of Finance and Deputy Head of the Business School at the University of East Anglia between 2008 and 2010. I followed this with two years as Deputy Dean and Professor of Finance in the Business School at the University of Bournemouth before moving to head the Accounting and Finance Division of the Business School at the University of Hull. Since 2014, I have been Professor of Finance and Head of the Economics and Finance Division of the Business School at the 91¶¶Òõ.

PhD students

Professor Andros Gregoriou has supervised eight PhD students to completion all within a duration of three and a half years. He has also externally examined 13 PhDs in his academic career to date. Professor Gregoriou is very interested in supervising students on the topics of Stock Market Liquidity and Financial Econometrics.
