Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship provides great benefits to employers and employees alike, boosting your staff's capabilities through a combination of academic study and on-the-job training.

The 91¶¶Òõ has been developing and delivering higher and degree apprenticeships since 2016. These programmes are designed by employers for employers, meeting the needs of the public and private sector while improving staff development and retention.

Our apprentices combine work with part-time university study and develop through on-the-job learning with work-based projects relevant to their organisation.

Many of our higher and degree apprenticeship programmes and HTQ qualifications are also offered through the .

Our apprenticeship programmes

Our apprenticeship programmes range from business and management to education, construction, engineering and the built environment, and health and science.

What are higher and degree apprenticeships?

Higher and degree apprenticeships are jobs with industry-led educational programmes attached that lead to university qualifications. An apprenticeship is a three-way partnership between an education provider (the 91¶¶Òõ), an employer, and an apprentice, who could be an existing employee or a new hire.

Apprentices spend most of their time at the workplace in a relevant professional role, with 20% of their time (usually one day per week) released for university study. The 91¶¶Òõ offers level 5, 6 and 7 apprenticeships, equivalent to foundation, bachelors and masters degrees respectively.

The assignments on my course were work-based – for one, I conducted a cost analysis of overheads, indirect and direct costings and was able to come back to my manager with good evidence and suggestions for improvement. Many of my cohort produced tangible results for our own organisations.
