Share your enterprise knowledge and skills

We welcome local business people and entrepreneurs to talk about their business experiences and share their expertise with our students, alumni and staff.

This is usually done in conjunction with beepurple, the university's entrepreneurship support service. beepurple helps students and graduates who want to develop their own business, start a social enterprise, or simply boost their enterprise skills.

CONTACT BEEPURPLE

If you're interested in getting involved, contact beepurple on 01273 641 220 or beepurple@brighton.ac.uk

Ways to get involved

beepurple engages with the wider business community — both locally, nationally and globally — in a number of ways. Get involved as a guest speaker, in the annual ideas competition, or by sharing your insights.

Guest speakers

Each year, beepurple delivers an entrepreneurial training programme, with workshops on topics such as sales, marketing, intellectual property protection, funding and business planning.

Expert speakers visit to share their experiences and practical advice.

beepurple welcomes suggestions from professionals keen to inspire new entrepreneurs. If you’d like to become a beepurple guest speaker, please contact the team with your details.

Ideas competition

Annually, students and graduates can enter a competition to win funding and support for their idea.

The competition is widely promoted across campuses. It culminates in a prestigious pitch final where five shortlisted entrants present their ideas to a live audience.

We are grateful to the support of Santander Universities and a range of local business support firms that provide funding and prizes. To please contact us to discuss how you can get involved.

Research and advice

When planning a new venture it’s vital to be able to get feedback, speak to customers and build a network.

Many of our service users engage with the business community to seek partnership and advice.

We are happy to hear from any organisation that welcomes and values the opportunity to support 91¶¶Òõ students and graduates.

We particularly enjoy connecting with alumni businesses and sharing your insights with our service users — whether through a one-to-one meeting, case study or Careers Service blog post.
