Our work

We have worked alongside a wide range of organisations, and used world-leading research into innovation to develop a range of innovative programmes, workshops and tools.

These have enabled businesses to identify best practice and design, develop and validate ideas, and a toolbox for Open Innovation. Open Innovation can help you to bring in skills, knowledge and experience, that you may not already have, into your business, by working with an external partner.

Business can access innovation focused practices, expertise and support to renew growth, particularly those focused on planning to launch, adapt or scale up new products or services.

SME Innovation

We have a strong tradition of working with small and medium-sized (SME) businesses, helping them to discover innovation-focused routes to support their business growth plans.

Our specialist SME business team will help you identify what support is best for you through bespoke innovation audits and innovation planning sessions.

The RISE project - supporting SME innovation in partnership with the University of Sussex and West Sussex County Council.
The university's INSPIRE programme has helped enormously in our transition, pivoting from a web-based company, to a solutions focused company. We were able to apply the methodology learned in our workshops, and with the support of our INSPIRE coach, create an open innovation action plan. It has made the previously intangible possible - a focused growth plan to help realise our ambitions.“

Measuring aerodynamics

were able to access specialist equipment and expertise as part of the BRITE project to test and measure the aerodynamics of their bikes whilst in use.

When I talked to the University about some of our business challenges, they suggested the KTP scheme as a way to work collaboratively with university academics on a strategic business project which really suited my needs. Our sights were set on growing the business, so I was keen to look at how we could do things differently.

Challenging norms

At the 91¶¶Òõ, we like to think outside the box. Finding solutions to society’s most urgent issues can seem overwhelming, and difficult to address. That's why we champion thought-provoking research that challenges norms and assumptions.

Our researchers are unafraid to ask and explore the important questions in order to get to the root of the challenge.

The Impact Factory is a truly unique 91¶¶Òõ experience. It is a methodology designed to address messy engineering problems, focusing on asking naive questions and challenging accepted norms.

If you are interested in getting stuck into messy problems, come and talk to us!
