Advancing innovation through in-company training

Equiniti teamEquiniti team

The university’s Training and Development team and researchers from the 91¶¶Òõ Business School and one the world’s top 10 innovation research groups, worked with Lancing-based Equiniti to further its innovation agenda and develop the skills to deliver that agenda effectively.

The research Centre for Change, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (CENTRIM) ran a programme of Managing Innovation workshops attended by Equiniti staff from different teams, including operational excellence and share registration services.

During the workshops, staff were introduced to the principles of innovation management, a simulated “innovation journey”, practiced the skills and tools used by the most successful innovation managers and organisations, as well as  how to get from a good idea, to delivering value for their stakeholders.

Equiniti’s Senior Manager Innovation, Registration Services, Di Penly said: “The course helped to highlight how we can better focus our energy on the innovations that bring best benefit and customer satisfaction, and how we can better implement them effectively.”

“We are now looking at the best ways to apply the principles we learnt to a number of different areas of the business. These include the Product team who look at the development of new products and manage existing products, the Operational Excellence team responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and Equiniti’s consulting services."
