Events, pilgrimages and discussion groups

Our Faith and Spirituality Team and Spiritual Advisors organise discussion groups on current affairs and moral issues, and excursions to various locations which prompt reflection. They also host and promote other events throughout the year, where you can have fun and meet new people.

  • 29 Nov - 1st December 2024 - Advent retreat at Worth Abbey 
  • 14 - 17 April 2025 - Holy Week walking pilgrimage to Worth Abbey 
  • 17 - 20 April - Easter Triduum retreat at Worth Abbey 

Regular events

Sunday:
11am Mass followed by student lunch at St Joseph's Catholic Church on elm Grove.
5:15pm Music practice in the Meeting House on Sussex Campus
6pm Student Mass in the Meeting House on Sussex campus, followed by social/refreshments.

Tuesday:
6:30pm Cathsoc social (including supper) in the Catholic Student Centre situated opposite Falmer Station.

Wednesday:
12:00 Mass in Watts 406, followed by lunch in the canteen.
6:45pm Deep Waters student/young adult group in the basement of 6 Wellington Road, BN2 3AA: Food, talks, prayer, social.

Regular events arranged by our Jewish Faith Adviser

  • Every Friday: Friday night Shabbat dinner, hosted by the university’s Jewish Faith Adviser Rabbi Zalman Lewis, at the local Chabad Jewish Student Centre.
