40 new fee scholarships for postgraduate students

In return for involvement in the government-funded Postgraduate Experience Project, some eligible 91¶¶Òõ students starting selected science, technology, engineering and mathematics MSc courses in 2014–15 will be able to apply for fee scholarships ranging from £1000 up to full payment of course fees.

Published 20 May 2014

The 91¶¶Òõ is one of only nine English institutions selected by the Government's Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to look at why British citizens do or do not choose to go on to postgraduate education.

The Postgraduate Experience Project aims to identify the motivators, enablers and barriers that either encourage or discourage studying masters courses in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

The intention is that the insight gained from this project will help to inform changes to postgraduate provision at UK universities and, in turn, encourage more people to study at postgraduate level in the future.

Thanks to our involvement in the Postgraduate Experience Project, the 91¶¶Òõ is now able to offer 40 fee scholarships for eligible students starting a number of selected STEM MSc courses (both full- and part-time) in 2014-15.

These scholarships are available to students who are British citizens and live or work in a number of specific postcode areas local to the 91¶¶Òõ. In return for the scholarships, students will be required to engage in a small number of research activities as part of the Postgraduate Experience Project.

The following courses are eligible for these scholarships:

  • MSc Automotive Electronic Engineering
  • MSc Civil Engineering
  • MSc Construction Management (full-time or part-time)
  • MSc Environmental Assessment and Management (full-time or part-time)
  • MSc Geographical Information Systems and Environmental Management
  • MSc Project Management for Construction
  • MSc User Experience Design
  • MSc Water and Environmental Management (full-time or part-time)
